The Southgate Rhododendrons are new to the Southern Living Plant Collection. They thrive in the Deep South with their excellent heat tolerance while still thriving in their native zones as well. Breeze produces medium pink buds that open to white with prominent maroon blotch in Spring. This plant offers year round interest along with disease/pest resistance. When planting this Rhododendron, dig the hole twice as wide as the pot and mix rich garden soil in with your native soil, then leave the top of the root ball 1/2-inch above the ground level when filling the hole with soil. Use a slow release granular fertilizer in Spring. Not guaranteed to be in bloom on arrival.
