Emperor I is one of the showiest Japanese Maples we've seen， but it's also a strong and dependable performer. It'll hold its color in shade and isn't likley to burn in sun. It's impressive， but not high maintenance--little to no pruning or training needed to make it look great. So if you want something that's a little different， and something of an upgrade on what you see in the neighborhood， we suggest Emperor I Japanese Maple. This variety adds a graceful element to you garden because the lobed leaves with 5-7 points look delicate and soft. Reaches 20 to 30 feet tall. Space plantings 15 to 20 feet apart. Little pruning is necessary， however， if needed， prune during dormant season and avoid pruning in spring when sap is running. Each offer includes one ornamental tree grown in a 2.25 gallon pot.
